The anticipation for Lady Gaga’s next album “ARTPOP” just got bigger. The singer announced on her website late Wednesday that “ARTPOP” would be released as a multimedia experience, specifically as a downloadable app for smartphones. Gaga says the app will be the best way for her fans to be immersed in the album with its interactive elements lieke chats, films for each song, bonus music and even Gaga-inspired games. She adds that upgrading to a multimedia platform for her upcoming album will allow her to constantly add content to it, even after it has been released. The album will also be released in regular physical and digital formats as well.
Gaga is the second major artist to release album as an app. Bjork did the same with her album “Biophilia” earlier this year. “ARTPOP” is set for release in early 2013.
