Jay-Z is holding another lofty new title. According to the “New York Post,” the hip-hop mogul and Brooklyn Nets part-owner has picked up a director role at the company that owns the Nets’ new home court. The “Post” says Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter will head up Barclays Arena firm along with six others. The rapper’s new role will require him to attend board meetings and help direct senior staff on daily operations. Jay-Z recently announced plans to open a new 40/40 sports bar in the Barclays Center later this year. He will also officially open the venue on September 28th with a headlining concert.
