The National Enquirer has published a photo of Whitney Houston in an open coffin on the cover of this week’s issue. The unauthorized photo shows Whitney lying in a gold coffin and wearing a purple dress with matching eye shadow, lip gloss and jewelry worth a reported $500,000. The coffin had Whitney’s nicknamed embroidered in the silk lining between two treble clef symbols. The headline read, “Whitney: The Last Photo.” The Daily Mail reported that The Enquirer has claimed that the photo was taken at the Whigham Funeral Home in Newark, New Jersey, during Whitney’s private wake for close friends and family only. In other news, millions tuned into Whitney’s funeral on Saturday (February 18trh). CNN averaged about five million viewers between 12:15 to 3:45. Fox News saw 1.38 million viewers tune in while MSNBC has 709,000. BET and E! numbers are not available but online, 7.3 million viewers were glued to their computer screens. Whitney was found dead in the bathtub at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. She was laid to rest beside her father’s grave at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield on Sunday (February 19th). She was 48.
