Katy Perry is adding another acting gig to her resume. The pop singer, who showed up in the CBS sitcom “How I Met Your Mother” last year, is now set to make a guest appearance on Fox’s “Raising Hope.” The network announced the news on Wednesday, with executive producer Greg Garcia saying in a statement that Perry was hilarious and did a “terrific job.” He also joked that he “sincerely hopes” her spot on the show will help get her singing career off the ground. For her part, Perry explained that the idea was first suggested by her friend and “Raising Hope” star Shannon Woodward. She sarcastically says she signed on because she had “nothing else to do,” but adds that she hopes the role won’t sabotage her potential future career by type-casting her as “just a looker.”
Perry’s episode of “Raising Hope” is set to air March 6th. It will mark the first show in the series’ new time slot at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.
