The British singer picked up two more trophies Tuesday at the BRIT Awards for British Female Solo Artist and British Album of the Year. While accepting her award, Adele said the only thing that could make her prouder than winning six Grammys earlier this month is winning Album of the Year at the BRITs. However her speech was cut short by host James Coden due to time constraints, which reportedly led Adele to flip the bird at the BRIT bosses for keeping her from thanking her fans. Adele was much friendlier earlier in the show when she received a standing ovation during her performance of “Rolling in the Deep,” which was only her second time onstage following vocal cord surgery back in November.
Other 2012 BRIT winners include Bruno Mars for International Male Solo Artist, and Rihanna, who won International Female Solo Artist for the second year in a row. The ceremony at London’s O2 Arena also included video tributes to Whitney Houston, who died on February 11th, and Amy Winehouse, who died last summer. Coldplay also took the stage to perform, as did Rihanna, Florence and the Machine, Blur and others.
