It looks like Adam Lambert has a gig among royalty this summer. The “American Idol” runner-up tells the U.K.’s “Daily Star” he’ll be performing with Brian May and Roger Taylor of Queen at the Sonisphere Festival in July. Lambert says he’s excited to help “keep the music alive,” and hopes to give the show an energy that the band’s late frontman Freddie Mercury would be proud of. Adam previously performed with May and Taylor at the “American Idol” finale in 2009, as well as at the MTV EMAs in Belfast last year. But Lambert says he knows it would be impossible to try to replace an iconic singer like Mercury. Instead, he says he’s looking at it as a “great honor” he has no plans of shirking. Meanwhile, Lambert is on track to release his second studio album, “Trespassing,” in March.
