The release of “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3” is being called the biggest entertainment launch of all time.  Video game publisher Activision says more than six-and-a-half million copies of the game were sold in North America and the UK in the first 24 hours of its release on Tuesday.  Activision is estimating that it made 400-million dollars during that time, more than ten percent above the 24-hour sales of the game’s predecessor, “Black Ops.”  Activision’s CEO says the “Call of Duty” franchise has generated more sales than the worldwide theatrical box office for “Star Wars” and “Lord of the Rings.”
