Rihanna is keeping busy! As her LOUD tour comes to a close, she’s not only begun modeling as the new face of Armani Jeans & Underwear, but she’s expanding her portfolio with some new television and music gigs.
According to TMZ, Rihanna will be serving as a guest judge on the upcoming singing competition show “X-Factor” alongside L.A. Reid, the man responsible for signing her back in 2005. He’ll bring Riri on to help him decide which acts he should take through to the live finals, where they’ll compete for the public vote.
Also, Rihanna’s hit-making skills (admit it, she’s taken Jay-Z, Kanye West and Eminem collabos to the next level) have been recognized by Coldplay. The UK band has asked that she appear on “Princess of China,” one of the tracks off the band’s new album Mylo Xyloto.
Lead singer Chris Martin (the husband of Beyonce’s best friend Gwyneth Paltrow) admits he was nervous asking her about the duet:
“The album is designed as a whole piece. It has boy and girl lead characters and top of our list for the girl part was Rihanna… but it took a while to pluck up the courage to ask her. We did a show in Las Vegas and I met her and said, ‘Do you think there’s any chance?’ I was very Hugh Grant-like and spluttering about it. She has such an amazing voice and it’s so different to mine. When the vocal happened I thought, ‘Wow, you sound different,’ but I think that’s also because she was singing a different song to what we are used to hearing from her and it is written by a bloke from Devon.”
