Nominations for Emmy’s were announced this morning (Thursday). Lady Gaga’s HBO special “Monster Ball Tour: At Madison Square Garden” is up for five awards including Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special.  Justin Timberlake is a multiple-nominee as well.  He earned three nods for his appearance on “Saturday Night Live,” including Outstanding Guest Actor.  Justin’s “Not Gonna Sing Tonight” performance and “3-Way (The Golden Rule)” collaboration with Lonely Island are also nominated in the Outstanding Original Music category.

As for other music-oriented television, “American Idol’s” new look season picked up ten nods, including Outstanding Reality Competition Series and Outstanding Host for Ryan Seacrest.  “Glee” is also well represented this year with 12 nominations.  It’s in the running for Best Comedy Series while stars Chris Colfer and Jane Lynch are up for Outstanding Supporting Actor and Actress, respectively.  Lynch is also set to host the ceremony, which is scheduled to take place on September 18th.
