Is this wise?!

Although it once dominated Tuesday nights, Fox is moving American Idol to Wednesdays and Thursdays for midseason.

Thursdays are the most lucrative for advertising revenue, so the network is moving Fringe to Fridays in order to make room for Idol. Mostly, Idol is being used as a lead in on to Fox’s new shows.

On Wednesday, Idol will begin at 8pm as the new show Human Target follows. And in April, Idol will be a lead in to Christian Slater‘s midseason comedy Breaking In.

But at it’s Wednesday time slot, Idol will be in direct competition with Paula Abdul‘s CBS show, Live to Dance.
