Hours after conceding the 2016 presidential election to Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, who thought she would wake up Wednesday morning as the first woman president-elected, addressed her supporters in New York.

In her speech, she addressed that she spoke to Trump to congratulate him and offer to work with him behalf of our country.

“Last night, I congratulated Donald Trump and offered to work with him on behalf of our country. I hope that he will be a successful president for all Americans,” Clinton said. “Donald Trump is going to be our president. We owe him an open mind and a chance to lead.”

She went on to apologize, saying “I am sorry that we did not win this election.”

In closing, she went on to addressed women as a whole and encourage to pursue and achieve their dreams.

“To all the women and especially the young women who put their faith in this campaign and in me, I want you to know that nothing has made me prouder than to be your champion,” Clinton said.
“And to all the little girls who are watching this, never doubt that you are valuable and powerful and deserving of every chance and opportunity in the world to pursue and to achieve your own dreams.”
