The first teaser trailer for the Power Rangers reboot has been released, and it looks like these new Rangers mean business.
The trailer was released over the weekend and has already garnered over twelve million views on Youtube.
That being said, fan reviews seemed mixed so far. The main complaint has been this movie will not represent the Power Rangers we grew up with since the trailer seems to be going with less silliness and more grim. Then you have some who called for more action and less teen drama, since we don’t see much action or even Rangers’ Zords, though those were teased in a series of posters recently.
Beyond that, fans only get a very brief glimpse of the movie’s villain, a different-looking Rita Repulsa (played by Elizabeth Banks).
Nevertheless, the excitement about the movie remains the topic and there will be plenty of time to decide if your going to see it, since the movie doesn’t hit theaters until March 24, 2017.
The official synopsis for the reboot: “Power Rangers follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove–and the world–is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.”
