Now that The CW is running, the previously on CBS, Supergirl, Superman will finally join her cousin in the second season of the show. With CW now in control the show plans to intertwine with its other intertwining DC Comics TV entities on CW, which include Arrow, The Flash, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
In the season 2 premiere we finally see Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) help save the day with her legendary cousin Clark Kent, Superman (Tyler Hoechlin).
“The two of them actually show up to the same crisis,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg says. “It’s not a turf war, they just both heard about the same tragedy on the news and both flew into action,” Kresisberg told Entertainment Weekly. “They haven’t really gotten a chance to spend time together, especially since she’s come out as Supergirl, and they both want that,” Kreisberg says. “Both of them have a bit of sadness about them — they both have that sense of feeling alone, they both have that sense of feeling different — and both of them remark that that loneliness, that alienation, that isolation goes away when they are together.”
Supergirl returns Monday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW
