There have been rumors swirling since last summer of a possible return of the animated, fictional group, The Gorillaz. Who haven’t made an album since their 2011, The Fall. Co-Founder, Jamie Hewlett spoke via The Gorillaz fan page GorillazNorthAmerica, Jamie promises that the new Gorillaz album is “really f****n’ special.” Saying that the album “can’t be rushed,” the fan page confirmed that the album will be releasing in 2017 rather than later this year.
In a recent interview with BBC Radio 6 Music, the other Co-Founder, Blur’s, Damon Albarn said that the new Gorillaz album “should be ready fairly soon.”
At the beginning of this week The Gorillaz for the first time became officially members of Instagram. In the first few hours the page already had 27 posts that showcased the entirety of their career. It is believed that the chronological history posting from past to present may eventually lead to current day new of the highly anticipated new album from The Gorillaz. It could become a source for all news releases for The Gorillaz.
The Gorillaz also updated their official website. Featuring the recently converted HD music videos from their vault along with links to all their social networking accounts. It looks like The Gorillaz are joining in the social media game as its source for updates on the group and their upcoming album.
