NBA fashion trailblazer and legend Allen Iverson is set to be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame on Friday, September 9.

With the press getting a chance to speak to him, the 41-year-old touched on the love he has for his former teammates and his coaches.

That’s the only thing that got me here is my teammates and my coaches. That’s the only reason I’m here. All those guys sacrificed their games and sacrificed different things for me to be honored like this,” he said while fighting back tears.

Iverson even showed love to his high school coaches and his fans, whom he had an emotional relationship with as well.

In an era of the button-up, Iverson had major swag. He dressed how he wanted, and accessorized with braids and showed off tattooed arms. He exuded that same confidence when he stepped onto the court. His personality was always on full display, even if it led to him getting in trouble. This would eventually lead to him being one of the greatest players to never win a ring, but people admired his fight to climb the unbearably steep mountain to NBA greatness.

Iverson’s Hall of Fame acceptance speech is sure to be just has emotional and is set to air live Friday at 6:30 p.m. on NBATV.
