Johnny Depp will play LAPD detective Russell Poole in the new film Labyrinth. The late Russell Poole is most notable for his relentless attempts to solve the murders of legendary rappers Tupac Shakurand Notorious B.I.G.
Directed by Brad Furman, Labyrinth is an adaptation of Randall Sullivan’s 2003 book LAbyrinth, which chronicled the life of highly decorated LAPD detective Russell Poole, who in 1997 was called to investigate a controversial cop-on-cop shooting. Eventually, Poole discovered that the officer killed was tied to Suge Knight’s notorious rap label, Death Row Records.
