Premiere Of Disney's 'Alice Through The Looking Glass'

It’s going to be a very Tupac 2017.

Johnny Depp will play LAPD detective Russell Poole in the new film Labyrinth. The late Russell Poole is most notable for his relentless attempts to solve the murders of legendary rappers Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G.

Directed by Brad Furman, Labyrinth is an adaptation of Randall Sullivan’s 2003 book LAbyrinth, which chronicled the life of highly decorated LAPD detective Russell Poole, who in 1997 was called to investigate a controversial cop-on-cop shooting. Eventually, Poole discovered that the officer killed was tied to Suge Knight’s notorious rap label, Death Row Records.

News of Labyrinth comes as hype is beginning to build around Benny Boom’s forthcoming Tupac biopic, All Eyez On Me.

Yesterday (September 7), marked the anniversary of the night Tupac was shot in Las Vegas. September 13th will mark 20 years since Tupac Shakur passed away.

There’s still no word on when All Eyez On Me will hit theaters nationwide, but it’s coming soon. Also stay tuned for more info regarding Labyrinth.
