Dj Khaled has had an amazing year and is showing no signs of slowing down.
The famed producer stopped by Baltimore’s 92Q station with “Kels in the Afternoon,” and dished on everything from working with Beyonce and Jay Z, to making history with his new collaboration with Nas.
On his newfound success—thanks to his motivational Snapchat personality—Khaled revealed, “Imagine the whole world, knowing your vibe and how you move. Sometimes I be having tears come out my eyes. I remember when they tried to count me out. “
Khaled has 29 artists featured on his ninth album, including the legendary Nas. The Cloth Talk king opened up about his excitement to release the song featuring the Queens icon, entitled “Nas Album Done.” He revealed, “We sampled Ms. Lauryn Hill, Fugees. [Nas] went so hard. He gave you Illmatic Nas. This record is one of my favorite. Classic. Timeless. Iconic.”
The Miami-bred star even dished on how he got Jay Z to get on the album. Khaled purchased a condo in New York and and made it to the studio every time Jay was there, saying, “Ima make it known, I’m here. If he was eating at a restaurant, I’d make sure I was invited.”
