Fast and Furious has found another heart-throb to join the film franchise.
In a Facebook post on Monday, he said:
“To me, the series is so much more than just a franchise. It’s a legacy. These great actors who have been in it together for so long have become a family. I absolutely can’t wait to join it.”
However, Eastwood didn’t go into detail about his role in Fast 8, saying only, “I get to play a new character who operates under Kurt Russell in the movie, which is incredible, because Kurt was a total childhood hero of mine growing up. Very much looking forward to learning a thing or two from such an original and cool guy.”
In November 2013, Fast and Furious star Paul Walker passed away in a tragic car crash. “Fast 8” will be the first sequel that will not feature actor.
“Paul – I am going to make you proud,” Eastwood added.
This sequel will boast some serious star power. In addition to Russell and Eastwood, it has also been confirmed that Charlize Theron has joined the cast. “I feel like her coming on board — girl power,” Tyrese Gibson, who’s appeared in five Fast and Furious films, told Entertainment Tonight. “What we pride [ourselves in] in The Fast and Furious [franchise] is a very diversified cast that’s translating domestically and internationally in a major way.”
Fast and Furious 8 will hit theaters on April 14, 2017.
