Dozens of stars and musicians have spoken out in support of Kesha, including Lady Gaga, posted a photo with her on Wednesday night.
Earlier on Wednesday, Kesha thanked fans and fellow singers for standing with her and addressed the uncertainty surrounding her future as a recording artist.
“All I ever wanted was to be able to make music without being afraid, scared, or abused. This case has never been about a renegotiation of my record contract – it was never about getting a bigger, or a better deal. This is about being free from my abuser. I would be willing to work with Sony if they do the right thing and break all ties that bind me to my abuser.”
But here’s where it get’s interesting…
Kesha also announced that she was cancelling her Chicago show this weekend, which JUST SO HAPPENS to be Oscar’s weekend. Then, ironically, Gaga posted a Snapchat video WITH Kesha, which means that they actually WERE together last night— AKA the night of Lady Gaga’s Oscar’s rehearsal.
FYI, she’s performing the song she’s nominated for an Academy Award, called “Til It Happens To You,” which focuses on the topic of sexual assault.
What does all of this mean?
Well, people are now speculating that with her concert cancellation and the video’s with Gaga, there’s a chance they might be planning a surprise appearance by Kesha during Gaga’s performance…or at least a red carpet appearance together to show solidarity.
I guess we will have to wait til Sunday to find out!
