After a few weeks of trade rumors and free agent speculation, the 2015 NBA Draft is here! Its widely assumed that University of Kentucky freshman Karl-Anthony Towns will go as the number one pick to the Minnesota Timberwolves, but after that it’s been a total guessing game. We will be updating the first round live as it happens! You can also catch us live tweeting the draft over on Twitter at @theurbandaily.com.

First Round:

.) Minnesota TimberwolvesKarl-Anthony Towns: With the Timberwolves drafting the multi-talented big man Towns, they are putting the league on notice. Towns is a mobile big man and is often compared to a young Tim Duncan. Pairing Towns with Andrew Wiggins, the reigning NBA Rookie Of The Year, the young T-Wolves have just positioned themselves as a team on the rise.

.) Los Angeles Lakers – D’Angelo Russell: In a somewhat surprising pick, the Lakers went with dynamic point guard D’Angelo Russell out of Ohio State passing up big man Jahlil Okafor from Duke University. Russell will join Kobe Bean in the Lakers backcourt while rumors fly that the Lakers are working on a Boogie Cousins trade. Should be a big night for the Lake Show.

.) Philadelphia 76ersJahlil Okafor – The Sixers probably didn’t expect to have Jahlil Okafor fall into their laps, but after the Lakers drafted D’Angelo Russell, he was available. Okafor joins a crowded frontcourt for the Sixers. Look for somebody to be on the move before the night is over.

.) New York KnicksKristaps Porzingis – Porzingis has been gaining big buzz for the last few weeks. He looked like a young Dirk in his workouts for a few teams. Hopefully he turns out to be a player sooner rather than later, the Knicks need help now.

.) Orlando MagicMario Hezonja: This guy is super athletic which fits in well with the Magic. He is super confident and he will need to be because he will be looked to contribute right away with the young Magic.

.) Sacramento KingsWillie Cauley-Stein: Cauley-Stein was a little surprise here but the Kings are anticipating that they may lose their All Star big Boogie Cousins. A little surprising if they don’t trade Cousins. Cauley-Stein is the second Kentucky Wildcats drafted tonight.

.) Denver NuggetsEmmanuel Mudiay: Mudiay is a very talented big point guard that played in China last year rather than play in college. The Nuggets must have a plan in place to trade their current point guard, Ty Lawson. Mudiay is still kinda of question mark because he was hurt most of the year.

.) Detroit PistonsStanley Johnson: In another surprising pick, the Pistons went for Johnson over Duke wing Justise Winslow. He is the prototype Stan Van Gundy player (good defensive, can play 3 to 4 positions). Should be a good fit in Motown.

.) Charlotte HornetsFrank Kaminsky: Frank the Tank out of Wisconsin will give the Hornets the same kind of things that they traded away last year when they dealt Josh McRoberts to the Heat. There were reports that the Hornets was looking to deal Cody Zeller, there could be a trade with Charlotte coming later in the draft. Again, surprising that Winslow didn’t go here.

.) Miami HeatJustise Winslow: This was a no brainer pick seeing that D Wade might sign elsewhere in the offseason. The Heat were EXTREMELY lucky to land Winslow at number 10. Could be the best player in the draft in 5 years.

.) Indiana PacersMyles Turner: This is a little bit surprising because he is essentially a young Roy Hibbert and he’s a project. The Pacers are slowing falling back to the pack as far as contenders. Maybe Turner is Larry Bird’s first building block.

.) Utah JazzTrey Lyles – Another Wildcat getting drafted early. Lyles was a little bit overlooked on that Kentucky team, but he has good size and is very mobile. Might need to add some weight. He could play the 4, 5 or maybe even the 3 spot.

.) Phoenix SunsDevin Booker: The Suns were another lucky squad to land a player that should have been drafted early. With his shooting, he will fit in perfectly with the run and gun Suns. His defense is a little suspect but with experience should get better.

.) Oklahoma City ThunderCameron Payne: Cameron Payne is somewhat of an unknown player coming in, but after seeing some of his games, he’s a player. He will back up Russell Westbrook. He has a scorer mentality that OKC players have to have.

.) Atlanta HawksKelly Oubre Jr.: This was a no brainer pick for the Hawks. With Paul Millsap possibly leaving, he can step in and fill a number of positions for the Hawks and their free flowing offensive sets. Great pick for Atlanta.

Update: **Pick traded to the Washington Wizards**

.) Boston CelticsTerry Rozier: THIS WAS A SHOCKING PICK! He was assumed to be pick late first round at best. Wow. He’s a good player though. With this pick, current starting point guard Marcus Smart may be on the move.

.) Milwaukee BucksRashad Vaughn: Vaughn flew a little under the radar at UNLV. He’s a young wing that with some coaching and experience can be a steal for the Bucks. The Bucks also may lose Khris Middleton to free agency, so this may be insurance.

.) Houston RocketsSam Dekker: Dekker had a monster NCAA tournament, but the signs of him being a good player was evident before then during the Big 10 season. He’s bouncy and can give them some help on the boards with his size. Good pick for Houston.

.) Washington WizardsJerian Grant: Grant is a really good athlete that should thrive in the Atlanta offense. Has great size and has a good basketball IQ. Could be DeMarre Carroll’s replacement in Atlanta

Update: **This pick was traded to Atlanta**

Update 2: **Jerian Grant will head to New York and Hardaway, Jr. will head to Atlanta while Kelly Oubre will head to Washington**

.) Toronto RaptorsDelon Wright: Wright was college basketball’s best point guard last year and will probably back up Kyle Lowry (if the Raptors don’t trade Lowry). He is an ‘older’ player, but with that comes maturity. Playing in Utah, Wright is still somewhat of a question mark.

.) Dallas Mavericks Justin Anderson: Anderson is coming from a Virginia team that is known for their defense. His main strength is that he is a super athlete that can defend, shoot (a little) and rebound (somewhat). With Monta Ellis possibly leaving, he could fill that shooting guard role.

.) Chicago BullsBobby Portis: Many assumed that Portis would be picked by the Washington Wizards because of his shooting ability and their want for a stretch 4. Chicago’s strength on the team used to be its guard play with Derrick Rose and company, but now its clearly the frontcourt with Noah, Gasol, and now Portis. Nice pick.

.) Portland TrailblazersRondae Hollis-Jefferson: Everyone knows what you get with RHJ. Dude is a monster on the defensive end and is a great athlete. He needs to work on his offensive and jumper for him to take his game to the next level. With Wes Matthews health being a question mark, this is a good pickup.

.) Cleveland CavaliersTyus Jones: This pick makes sense because while Delle was ‘fun’ to root for during the playoffs when Kyrie went down, he shouldn’t be counted on to back up a starter night in and night out. Jones is a steady point that won’t turn the ball over and makes smart plays.

Update: **This pick was traded to Minnesota Timberwolves**

.) Memphis GrizzliesJarell Martin: Other super athlete out of LSU. He actually reminds people of another LSU product that went high in the draft Tyrus Thomas. He can rebound and handle the rock well for a guy his size. Could be Jeff Green’s backup in the rotation.

.) San Antonio SpursNikola Miltunov: Don’t know a ton about him, but if the Spurs take him, he has be somewhat talented because the Spurs always have an international stash player on deck. He’s a PF and Duncan maybe has one more year in him.

.) Los Angeles LakersLarry Nance Jr.: Nance has good bloodlines with his dad being an old NBA great. He probably will be brought in to compete and push Kobe in practice with him picking up some pointers along the way.

.) Boston CelticsR.J. Hunter : The Celtics lucked out to get this guy this late. He captured everyone’s attention during the NCAA tournament, and has unlimited range. The Celtics needed offense and they got it with this pick.

.) Brooklyn Nets Chris McCullough: This Syracuse product was having a strong season before getting hurt, but with questions about Mason Plumlee and Brook Lopez remaining with the team, this was an insurance pick.

.) Golden State WarriorsKevon Looney: This was a value pick also. Looney was picked to be possibly a lottery pick even a week ago. Now he has a chance to contribute to the champs as a backup big.
