Ever dream of turning the Circle City into your own personal racetrack?

Well, keep dreaming.

But if you’ll settle for a Driving-Miss-Daisy-type experience as the passenger in a street-legal IndyCar, the ride-sharing service Uber will be offering free rides Downtown starting at 11 a.m. Thursday to those looking to cruise Meridian at a blistering 25 mph.

Here’s the catch: there’s only one IndyCar, room for one passenger and a four-hour window to catch a ride.

Even the ride-sharing service admits a “successful request will be difficult and may take many tries.”

If you’re one of the lucky few to score a lap, “an iconic IndyCar will arrive curbside within minutes” and loop you once around Downtown. You’ll be able to take all the selfies your smartphone can capture, and tell your friends about it on every social media platform available to mankind.

On the other hand, you might not get a ride at all, despite your sore thumb from repeatedly tapping the “Request IndyCar” button.
