Designer collaborations for Target have become absolutely HUGE. And one of the most awaited releases finally happened yesterday when the Lilly Pullitzer (#LillyForTarget) Collection was released.

FYI: Lilly is a HUGELY popular designer particularly with southern sorority girls (and was also very popular with Jackie O). But the 250 piece collection for Target offered a huge discount by offering items for $2-$150, which is a fraction of the cost of the regular Lilly line, where one seemingly simple dress will cost you hundreds of dollars.

But if you weren’t one of the first people lined up at the door when the store opened, you were probably out of luck since the collection sold out in MINUTES.

AKA Lilly Pullitzer turned Target into a real life version of the shopping Hunger Games for ladies everywhere and IT WAS INSANE.

And of course, Buzzfeed has one of the most amazing recaps of the insanity that I just HAD to share:

Needless to say, it was total madness.

Like, actually insane.
Multiple people on social media reported that the entire line was selling out within 10 minutes of stores opening.

This user said the racks were bare within two minutes.

The Lilly fanatics also crashed Target’s website, though it came back up a few hours later.
Some lucky ladies scored a ton of items…

And basked in their glory online.

Sorry, suckers.

Haters gonna hate.

Others weren’t so lucky. (Like me….)

And they were pisssssssssssed!

REALLY PISSED.

“IT WAS A BLOODBATH.”

"IT WAS A BLOODBATH."

 Those b*tches….

Those bitches.

It was like the Hunger Games!!!

There was also much drama because people began selling the Target line on eBay for much higher prices than in the store.

UGH.

People are the worst.

Just terrible.

It didn’t matter to some people though, who said they didn’t even want that “fake” Lilly ANYWAY. (*Cough* Bougieeeee *Cough*)
“Imitation Lilly” is for chumps…apparently.

my mom was like “everyone will be wearing the fake target Lilly and you’ll continue to wear the real original Lilly” so that’s a good point
