13-year-old Kyla Imani is taking YouTube by storm one adorable video at a time. As a singer, dancer, actor and musician she is already a force to be reckoned with. Her teen tribute to Beyonce’s “7/11″ has close to 1 million views on her YouTube page alone. The video garnered Internet buzz from MTV, Buzzfeed, Huffington Post and more. But Kyla has her own beliefs as to why the video was so popular.

Kyla says, “I think my version was so popular because it was so vibrant and cool. There really weren’t a lot of kid’s versions of the video.”

She credits the world’s most talented artists like Beyonce, Michael Jackson, Alicia Keys and Ariana Grande as her biggest musical influences. Despite her musical aspirations, Kyla still finds time to pursue other educational interests, including writing. Kyla serves as the Kids Editor for Jones Magazine where she writes a fun and quirky fashion column for tweens and young adults.

She also hopes to serve as an inspiration to other young kids. “Just because I’m on Youtube doesn’t mean I’m not a normal kid. I’m just like you,” Kyla declares.

As for her future, Kyla Imani is looking forward to 2015. She’s hoping to become a better performer and get into the high school of her dreams. But Kyla’s ultimate goal in life is to continue performing. She says, “As long as I’m performing, I think I’ll be okay.”

Kyla Imani’s debut EP will be out in May of 2015.
