The BIG GAME isn’t for several days still, but GoDaddy has ALREADY had to pull one of their commercials.

Their most recent Super Bowl commercial was released early online and got TONS of backlash, particularly from animal activists. The 30-second ad was a satirical play off of last year’s much-loved Super Bowl “Puppy Love” Budweiser commercial but this one was called “Lost Dog.”

In it, an adorable Golden Retriever puppy falls out of a truck, and finds it’s way home, only for the owner to say she set up a GoDaddy site to sell the puppy to a new owner. And some argued that the ending scene SEEMED to allude that the farm the puppy came from was a puppy mill.

Uh ohhhh….

Check it out for yourself below:

Animal rights activists were obviously pretty offended, since many puppies sold and purchased online come from puppy mills. And the hashtag #GoDaddyPuppy became a huge rallying point for critics.

Then in response, GoDaddy’s CEO tweeted that they will not air the commercial after all:

Yeah….that decision was probably for the best.
