The year 2015 hasn’t even started settled in yet and Madonna has already made people torch her edges. On Friday, the Material Girl posted pictures on Instagram of the slain civil rights lead Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, Nelson Mandela, Bob Marley, and John Lennon all with black strings around their faces. The photographs mirrored the art work for her new album, Rebel Heart which is slated to drop March 10.

Many fans and critics voiced their outraged and disgust over Madonna’s photoshop job of the deceased icons and blasted her for the disrespect. Later that day, Madge finally spoke out over the incident and gave a quasi apology for the pictures. The singer claimed she just re-posted the images her fans created and was no racist, or trying to compare herself to the leaders. According to Madonna:

I’m admiring and acknowledging there Rebel Hearts

This is niether a crime or an insult or racist!

Madonna’s going with the fan defense, really? Not for nothing but, you don’t have to post EVERYTHING your fans create.
