Disappointing thousands of people who signed a petition to deport Justin Bieber, the White House announced Friday that it would not be taking a stand on the issue. “Sorry to disappoint, but we won’t be commenting on this one,” wrote the White House. The response noted that the terms of the site state that officials can “decline to address certain procurement, law enforcement, adjudicatory, or similar matters properly within the jurisdiction of federal departments or agencies, federal courts, or state and local government in its response to a petition.” “So we’ll leave it to others to comment on Mr. Bieber’s case, but we’re glad you care about immigration issues,” added the White House. “Because our current system is broken. Too many employers game the system by hiring undocumented workers, and 11 million people are living in the shadows.”
A few months ago, several ‘Deport Bieber’ petitions were created, but only one had the necessary +100,000 votes necessary to get a response from the White House. Kyle & Rachel created one as well, but it reached around 65,000 votes!
