This is so sad. And this information is what no one wanted to hear. Academy Award winning and distinguished actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was allegedly found with a needle hanging out of his arm and heroin nearby.

According to TMZ sources, Hoffman was found in his bathroom with a needle sticking out of his left arm. Reports say police found 10 glassine envelopes. 2 of the envelopes had heroin and the others were thought to be empty.
Sources claim one of the envelopes had an “Ace of Spades” and another had an “Ace of Hearts” symbol on them.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ …
“Hoffman was supposed to pick up his kids at 9 AM Sunday but didn’t show which was unusual for him. A playwright and a friend became concerned, came over and found the actor alone in the apartment.
Hoffman admitted to battling an addiction to heroin and prescription drugs. He had been doing well for 23 years but last year he entered treatment as a preventative measure for his addictions.
TMZ reports that a source involved in Hoffman’s treatment tells them that the actor said at the time he was on the brink of becoming a heroin IV user and wanted to nip it in the bud before that happened.
The Hoffman Family released a statement saying,
“We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Phil and appreciate the outpouring of love and support.”
What an awesome talent gone too soon. We’ll choose to remember him for all the amazing things he contributed to the world. Again..gone too soon.
