Forecasts call for an additional 2-3 inches of rain in Tennessee today. So far, the Nashville flood has killed 5 people and left thousands of others stranded or without shelter. Major rain in the region caused the Harpeth River to rise 26 feet late on Saturday evening, which caused major flooding in the Nashville metro area.
I-24 in Nashville has turned into a river. There is even a house and a school building that were pushed into I-24 by the floodwaters. I-24 is closed along with 20 local roads.
Lipscomb University has opened a shelter, so has the American Red Cross, and there will be more shelters opening in the area soon.
Watch a school building get taken away by the current!
