In a tough economy, lots of folks have gone back to school; that includes a 58 year-old fella who ended up at Springfield College in Massachusetts….  He is also fulfilling his dream of playing college baseball.

He is a pitcher on the Springfield College junior varsity team. (His 3 children are older than any of his teammates.)

It had been 40 years since he last played in a real baseball game, back in high school. President Nixon was in office.

The man is dyslexic. The first time he went to college, he didn’t have the grades to play sports.

His dyslexia wasn’t diagnosed until recently. Now his biggest struggle is fitting in with a bunch of 18-22 year-olds.

(BTW: His teammates are in awe when the left-handed knuckle-baller pitches.)
