milton-bradley-spousal-abuseUnfortunately, athletes putting the paws on their significant other is nothing new. As these cases become more prevalent in the media, the severity of the crime have become increasingly violent. Former baseball player Milton Bradley is facing 13 counts of spousal abuse. He could receive 13 years in prison because of his behavior.

Los Angeles’ City Attorney’s Office filed the charges against the former Los Angeles Angel due to five different altercations. Milton Bradley will have to respond to four counts of spousal battery, four counts of criminal threats, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of vandalism, and one count of persuading a witness to not make a statement. (Your eyes probably hurt from reading all of that because our heads are spinning from writing it all.)

Milton Bradley’s most recent arrest was back in November of 2012. His wife Monique called the authorities alleging Milton tried to choke her out when she attempted to get him to stop smoking weed in front of their children. Another memorable incident for the couple came in August 2011 when Bradley attacked his wife with a baseball bat. The police also have a report stemming from a fight the couple got into and Milton tried to stab Monique.

Both Milton and Monique have gotten their attorneys and filed for a divorce.

At this time, Milton Bradley hasn’t made any comment about his legal issues. It’s probably best he keep quiet about this situation anyway.
