After a memorable first audition by Jim Carrey’s daughter Jane, the aspiring singer was eliminated on Wednesday’s “American Idol.”

Jane’s dismissal came after a self-described “shaky” performance during Day One of Hollywood Week.

“I’m really disappointed with myself,” she said after getting the bad news.

Steven Tyler says during the American Idol auditions he was tempted, at times, to run up on stage. “I do feel like doing that sometimes, but you can’t. But it’s still satisfying to mentor them, give them confidence, and watch them bloom.”

Fox President of Entertainment, Kevin Reilly addressed the rumors surrounding Steve Jones and Ryan Seacrest — the respective hosts of X Factor and American Idol — at Sunday’s TCA, but didn’t make any announcements about their futures. Both are at the end of contracts and it’s been rumored that the network wants to replace Jones, and that Seacrest wants out on Idol. Reilly only said, “The hosting gig, the only thing I will say, is, as we know, it is a much harder job than meets the eye. I think everyone has come to realize the value of a Ryan Seacrest. So whether Steve’s the guy or not, it comes under the heading of ‘Growth’ in general. There will be some tweaks to the show, but I’ll tell you, I’m very happy to have it and it’s gonna be part of us for a long time.”He addressed the Ryan rumors, saying of Idol, “It’s very hard to imagine the show without Ryan. We certainly want to keep him. There’s no creative discussion there whatsoever. It’s a deal issue. . . It’s a deal component and it’s a tough negotiation and one that I think will come to conclusion pretty quickly.” Ryan himself said, “At this point… I only see myself hosting ‘American Idol.’”

Scotty’s flub involved a performance of his own song at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.  He didn’t forget the lyrics to his current single, “The Trouble With Girls,” but when he missed his cue it became obvious that he wasn’t actually singing.  Everyone watching could hear his voice booming out from the float on which he was riding, but the microphone was away from his mouth and his lips didn’t move for the first five words of the song.

OK! Magazine is reporting that Carrie Underwood is expecting with hubby Mike Fisher, saying her pals told the mag, “Actually there’s even some speculation in her inner circle that she may already be expecting. She’s had that happy glow about her for weeks.

“The biggest sign for everyone is the fact that she’s completely stopped drinking. Carrie usually loves having a glass of champagne once in a while, but lately she’s been skipping it. She didn’t even have one sip after hosting the CMA Awards, which was really out of character.”

So what’s going on?

Maybe she just didn’t feel like getting tipsy that night (it happens), because Underwood’s rep tells E! News that the country singer is not pregnant.

And is that really much of a shocker? We already spoke to the beauty about her wishes to start a family, and she told us that it’s just not the right time.

“I’m good on the kid front right now,” the American Idol winner said in September. “Mike and I are both so busy. We want to do what’s best for us and our future children. Anytime within the next few years would just be bad.”

American Idol runner up Adam Lambert is facing legal actions after he reportedly violated the TV show’s rules by auditioning while he was under a music publishing contract. According to executives at Colwel Platinum Entertainment — the star reportedly worked with them before he found fame on Idol and signed a publishing agreement. The company reportedly attempted to release an album of Lambert’s songs titled, Beg For Mercy a few weeks ago but Lambert’s representatives ordered it to be removed. The lawsuit states, “The rules governing appearances on and participation in American Idol when Lambert was a contestant provided, among other things, that contestants were ineligible if ‘As of the date of the audition, they had… a music recording contract… or any other contractual arrangement that would prohibit them from entering into a… recording contract…’ A violation of this provision was grounds for disqualification.”According to Billboard.com, the lawsuit seeks to own half of the publishing share of the recordings made during Lambert’s time with the company and unconditional rights to promote and sell the material.

The singer told Britain’s Closer magazine that she feels like she’s aged because of the amount of work she’s already done. She said, “I feel like I’m 45. Because my career went from zero to 100, there was no ‘growing’. I learnt well under pressure, but like, four years passed by and I hit rock bottom. It was four years of non-stop. Breakaway just exploded everywhere. Everyone was making a lot of money, so everyone was pushing the train.”
