American Idol runner up Adam Lambert is facing legal actions after he reportedly violated the TV show’s rules by auditioning while he was under a music publishing contract. According to executives at Colwel Platinum Entertainment — the star reportedly worked with them before he found fame on Idol and signed a publishing agreement. The company reportedly attempted to release an album of Lambert’s songs titled, Beg For Mercy a few weeks ago but Lambert’s representatives ordered it to be removed. The lawsuit states, “The rules governing appearances on and participation in American Idol when Lambert was a contestant provided, among other things, that contestants were ineligible if ‘As of the date of the audition, they had… a music recording contract… or any other contractual arrangement that would prohibit them from entering into a… recording contract…’ A violation of this provision was grounds for disqualification.”According to Billboard.com, the lawsuit seeks to own half of the publishing share of the recordings made during Lambert’s time with the company and unconditional rights to promote and sell the material.

Adam Lambert crashed Lady Gaga’s birthday party — and then reportedly got kicked out! The American Idol alum wasn’t individually invited to the celebration at L.A’s La Cita Mexican restaurant, but attended as a guest of the Scissor Sisters.  Witnesses told US Magazine that Adam showed up totally intoxicated. Perez Hilton explained that because of Adam’s intense fist-pumping, he actually put a hole in the ceiling. Perez Hilton said, “Adam showed up beyond drunk. Super sloppy embarrassingly drunk! Lambert began some intense fist-pumping and kept beating on the walls until he’d actually punched a hole in the building’s low ceiling. “Another eyewitness said that Lambert was acting like an animal. The witness said, “Adam acted like an animal. He kept jumping up on the tables and chairs and screaming. When they brought the cake out he tried to smear it in Gaga’s face and put a doll from the cake in her mouth!” Sources reported that Lady Gaga asked her security to kick him out — but E! News said that wasn’t true. Adam Lambert didn’t directly comment on the incident, but a few days after the party he acknowledged his behavior on his Twitter page. Adam said, “My hand still hurts. LoL. Was trying for celebratory gesture 4 gaga’s B- piñata style. . . instead my fist is all bruised and la cita has a hole in the ceiling. #sloppy. “Lady Gaga hasn’t tweeted about the incident. Reps for both Lambert and Gaga couldn’t be reached for comment.

Lambert was fist-pumping on the walls and even punched a hole in the low ceiling. Another eye witness tells US Weekly, “Adam acted like an animal. He kept jumping up on the tables and chairs and screaming. When they brought the cake out he tried to smear it in Gaga’s face and put a doll from the cake in her mouth!”

Adam did try to apologize, sort of…he posted on his twitter page: “Was trying for celebratory gesture 4 gaga’s B- piñata style…instead my fist is all bruised and la cita has a hole in the ceiling. #sloppy”

As Lambert’s star continues to rise, so do his record sales. His debut album For Your Entertainment has sold over 1 million copies worldwide since it’s release in November of 2009. His single, “Whataya Want From Me” appeared on this year’s Grammy Nominees Album, which will have his faithful fan base watching closely on Sunday Feb. 13th to see if he takes home the Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards.

In the meantime, Lambert is revamping his song “Aftermath”, making it a “hot pop dance anthem” to benefit The Trevor Project, while “Whataya Want From Me” is set to appear on American Idol 10th Anniversary – The Hits, which features some of Idol’s most successful contestants in the show’s ten-year history. Lambert supporters are also awaiting his sophomore album which is likely to be released next fall.

First things first, however. He’s inviting us to take a look back before going forward.

Either way, Adam Lambert appears to be going nowhere but up.

Barely seeing his american Idol past in the rear view mirror, Adam Lambert has not been one to conform since taking on his solo career.  He’s made headlines in the past for kissing a male band member on stage and was recently asked to tame his live show while touring abroad as to not disrespect a certain country he was a guest in.  Well that certain country is definitely NOT Australia (it was Malaysia if you were wondering).  Have a look at the 4:25 mark from the video above during a recent performance where he jumps off stage, singles out a shirtless man in the audience, and pulls him forward for a quick make out session.

We’re not sure if he was just living in the moment and is really just a carefree artist, or if he’s deliberately trying to garner some press.  But we’re guessing this video will make the rounds quickly.
