My name is Polly Powell. I set up Kwest Studios as an independent music teacher in July 2006, after four years teaching keyboard and digital piano for Technics Music Academy at Everyman’s Music in Bristol and Keywest Music in Weston super Mare. My aim is to provide music lessons that are enjoy and affordable- to open up the world of music for everyone. I strive to inspire and motivate my students. This has been reflected in the excellent LCM exam achievements my students have made, and their performances in in concerts and festivals. Musically, my teaching and performing is heavily orientated towards pop and rock music. I have about a million different favourite bands and artists, but some which have influence me most include, Elton John, Darren Hayes, Muse, Coldplay and the Killers. I enjoy song writing, I’ll share some of my music with you soon- so keep checking back! My favourite hobby is going to gigs and concerts. I’m also a third-year student at Bristol University, taking Bsc (Hons) in Sociology. This year I’m writing a dissertation about business start-up barriers, and studying the sociology of pop music- among other things. I also work as a healthcare assistant for Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Trust.
