As if Kanye West needed something else to boast about, he was nominated for every single award at the BET Hip-Hop Awards except two. Out of the 18 categories, West didn’t receive a nod in the DJ of the Year Award and Rookie of the Year. The only other rappers to come close to matching Kanye’s nominations are 2 Chainz with 13 and Drake with 11 nods. The Drake-Kanye-2 Chainz trifecta will battle it out for every award because they are nominated against each other in every slot.

While Kanye was mentioned in almost every category, there were a few snubs. Nicki Minaj was noticably absent from any nominations. I guess radio personality Peter Rosenberg was right when he said Nicki Minaj’s new album wasn’t hip-hop. Her pop hit “Starships” got zero amounts of love. After having banner years, rhymers like Big Sean, Meek Mill, and Rick Ross were only nominated for a handful awards.
