Fifty-nine guest co-hosts later, Kelly Ripa will announce Sept. 4 which one gets the job for good.
No one is hinting who it might be, though comedian Seth Meyers, former football star Michael Strahan and singer Josh Groban are reportedly on a short list.
Pat Kiernan of New York 1 has also done several tryout stints.
Meyers has denied he’s interested, while Ripa herself recently shot down reports her husband, Mark Consuelos, is a candidate.
“Live With Kelly,” seen in New York at 9 a.m. on WABC/Ch. 7, has been without a permanent cohost since Regis Philbin left in November 2011.
Ripa has been auditioning since then, and she said in an interview earlier this year that “I’m having so much fun I’m in no hurry at all to pick just one person.”
She noted that some guest cohosts had enlivened the occasion with roses, “Bachelor”-style.
“What girl doesn’t love that?” she said.
But the rose stops here.
