Ryan Tedder says he doesn’t have a problem giving some of his biggest hits to other artists like Adele or Beyoncé, but he admits he’s been “hoarding” most of his recent songs for the next OneRepublic project. The frontman tells Billboard.com it’s usually clear when a song would work best with his voice or someone else’s, but every once in a while his bandmates or management have to convince him to keep one for himself. Tedder says he has about 30 song “starts,” a term he uses to describe a melody and a verse-chorus combo. He says they’ll probably do a few more before they narrow it down for OneRepublic’s follow-up to 2009′s “Waking Up.” Tedder says they don’t want to rush things, but they hope to have a new single out this summer.
