Once again proving that Pit Bulls are just regular dogs!!
I KNOW we have the best and cutest pit bull ever :) I sit on the board for Casa Del Toro Pit Bull Education and Rescue here in Indiana, and 4 1/2 years ago we rescued a litter of 12 blue pittie pups. One of them was our sweet Layla girl. She was supposed to just be a foster, but her extremely loving disposition made us a “foster failure” family fast! She grew up with a non-furry sister and brother and she was always the perfect dog when it came to them. She was even the first member of our family to notice our daughter’s epilepsy and without any special training, began notifying us of her seizures! Then, almost 3 months ago we added a new baby boy to complete our family. Layla had always loved children, but had not been around too many babies so we worked hard to prepare her for the huge adjustment. However, we had no idea how much she would love him! From the moment he came home from the hospital, we saw the “Nanny Dog” side of her came out even more. She watches over him, protects and loves him just like our other two older children. She is not only an amazing dog, but she IS the reason this breed is called “Nanny Dogs” for children! We are truly blessed to have her as part of our lives and family!
Here are a couple photos of our sweet Layla baby…one is from our new baby boy’s newborn photo shoot from his birth announcements and one is of her enjoying a warm summer day. Thank you for allowing me to share a little bit about our pittie girl! :) – Sara
