Lady Gaga and her mother Cynthia Germanotta have announced plans for the Born This Way Foundation launch which will take place on February 29th. Cynthia said in a statement,

“My daughter’s foundation was born out of her passion to create a better world where people are kinder and nicer to one another and are accepted for who they are, regardless of how different they may be… Together, we look forward to creating a new movement that will engage and empower youth and accept them as valuable members of our society.”

Meanchile, Lady Gaga has been nominated for a GLAAD Award in the category of Outstanding Music Artist for her song, “Born This Way.” Ricky Martin has been honored as a nominee in the Spanish Language categories of Outstanding Music Artist and Outstanding Digital Journalism Article.
